NetBox version

v4.2.1

Feature type

New functionality

Triage priority

N/A

Proposed functionality

Possibility to custom ordering of racks (Elevations) and saving it to the filters / bookmarks (for example saving a set of racks (filtered) and ordered.

Use case

Now it is not possible to custom order rack elevations which allows me only to 1) order racks by name (which is not possible when I have rack names imposed of above 2) forces me to create racks in an order I want to see them later as they look like in the netbox (but what if we will be buying and adding new one on the left or in the middle but it will be dispalyed on the right ?)

Use case: saving a view of elevations of the rack in the same location / site (for example the cluster/supercomputer) ordered in the choosen way. It is useful when you have a few cluster in different locations, for example four supercomputers and you do not have to filter them every time and order when you want to see them like they look like in reality.

@ymjpajak the floorplan plugin mentioned in #15412 might do what you're looking for?

@ymjpajak #15412 was declined for the reasons cited in the thread. I'm going to close this as a duplicate of that FR.
