Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like for the sorting to persist regarding Podcasts. Currently, the default sorting method is "most recent published podcast episode" and while you can change it, once you leave the specific podcast it resets.
However, especially for audio drama podcasts or something that splits its topic over multiple episodes, sorting by most recent is inadequate.
So please let the sorting that we set when we go on to a podcast persist once we leave it - both in the webinterface and the app.

I would also suggest that "serial" podcasts should have the opposite default. This may already be in the plans but just thought I'd bring it up.

Related to what @thorinmesser says, the current season/episode sorting is kinda weird. Why are they separate? Like, I can have descending seasons or episodes, but not both.
Shouldn't these be combined so that there's just one "sort by season & episode" option, or so that both can be applied at the same time?

I have the same question. I would like to set the default sorting to be by title. Because sometimes I download a higher quality version to replace a previous podcast episode, and that messes up the "most recent published podcast episode" sorting.

The most puzzling experience is when you select a different sorting, scroll down, select an episode and then go back to the overview. It remembers how far you scrolled down but not the sorting option you selected previously.
I would really love this feature, every time I want to listen to any podcast I always open the sorting options first to sort by the publication date in reverse order. An absence of any queueing functionality also means depending on the podcast's length I have to input that exact same sequence of touchscreen presses up to three times an hour.

@deanishe Yeah that's a good point

I've added persisting the filter option to this request as well. From #736
