(I am not affiliated with the project.) The binaries are built using GraalVM, which unfortunately does not support FreeBSD. I was able to run a Linux binary (https://github.com/apple/pkl/releases/download/0.25.1/pkl-linux-amd64) on FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE amd64 with Linux binary compatibility.
