Enable markdown support for custom validator error messages.

Use case

Lengthy or complex error messages may benefit from formatting with italics/boldface, which can make them easier to digest by end-users. Also, in some cases it would be helpful to include links in the error for further information, e.g. to an internal KB or wiki.
