Proposed Changes

Add dedicated UI views for the following models:

  • circuits.CircuitType
  • dcim.DeviceRole
  • dcim.Location
  • dcim.Manufacturer
  • dcim.Platform
  • dcim.RackRole
  • dcim.Region
  • dcim.SiteGroup
  • ipam.RIR
  • ipam.Role
  • ipam.VLANGroup
  • secrets.SecretRole
  • tenancy.TenantGroup
  • virtualization.ClusterGroup
  • virtualization.ClusterType

Justification

  • Provides a consistent user experience
  • Simplifies absolute URL resolution
  • Obviates the need for a nonstandard view for VLAN group members

It probably makes sense to delay this work until the templates have been overhauled under #5893
