Environment

  • Python version: 3.8
  • NetBox version: 2.9-beta1

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an interface to virtual machine
  2. Click on Assign IP on interface created for Virtual Machine
  3. Go to the Interface Assignment Section

Possible this issue can be in the existing stable release or may already have been fixed.

Expected Behavior

Default selected tab here should be virtual machine with its name and interface already filled

Observed Behavior

The default selected tab here is Device, however, clicking on virtual machine tab information is already filled.
This is pretty confusing as a user as default selected tab is Device rather it should be virtual machine especially when the workflow is - virtual machine -> create vm interface -> assign ip to virtual machine interface
