Environment

  • Python version:
  • NetBox version: 2.5.13

Proposed Functionality

Printing needs to be enhanced / fixed.
Tested in Chrome and IE

Issue #1:
Page breaks or margins are needed during printing. (Works ok in IE not in Chrome)

Issue #2:
Print font size seems to be increased dramatically, reducing size may help table printing from distorting.

Issue #3:
Rack Group view printing displays scrollbar and white space where search bar would be, thus distorting the print job.

Use Case

To print and document for auditing and disaster recover and easily being read.

If you have a general idea or question, please post to our mailing list instead of opening an issue: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/netbox-discuss NOTE: Due to an excessive backlog of feature requests, we are not currently accepting any proposals which significantly extend NetBox's feature scope. Please describe the environment in which you are running NetBox. Be sure that you are running an unmodified instance of the latest stable release before submitting a bug report. --> ### Environment * Python version: <!-- Example: 3.5.4 --> * NetBox version: 2.5.13 <!-- Describe in detail the new functionality you are proposing. Include any specific changes to work flows, data models, or the user interface. --> ### Proposed Functionality Printing needs to be enhanced / fixed. Issue #3: Rack Group view printing displays scrollbar and white space where search bar would be, thus distorting the print job. <!-- Convey an example use case for your proposed feature. Write from the perspective of a NetBox user who would benefit from the proposed functionality and describe how. ---> ### Use Case To print and document for auditing and disaster recover and easily being read. <!-- Note any changes to the database schema necessary to support the new feature. For example, does the proposal require adding a new model or field? (Not all new features require database changes.) ---> ### Database Changes <!-- List any new dependencies on external libraries or services that this new feature would introduce. For example, does the proposal require the installation of a new Python package? (Not all new features introduce new dependencies.) --> ### External Dependencies

Is this not mostly covered by #160 and the closed #2435?

What else would you be looking to print out? All the data contained within devices? I think this could be unwieldy and cumbersome.

There could be instances where you would have thousands of devices in netbox, which could result in multiple binders if you are planning on that route.

So, I looked through those and could not find it directly related or was closed. Issue #1 and #2 can probably be removed as Chrome does have a scaling ability which helps greatly and figured out the additional setting to get the margins corrected.

I really think Issue #3 does need to be fixed. I have attached a pdf, if it is able to be attached to show what I mean.

Please add your comments to #160. No need for a separate issue for this.
