Netbox 2.5.4 server error on patch panel front port creation #2329

Environment

  • Python version: 3.6.7
  • NetBox version: 2.5.4

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a new device type to be used as a patch panel template.
  2. Create rear ports as usual.
  3. Attempt to create corresponding front ports.

Expected Behavior

Expect to successfully create the port.

Observed Behavior

Receive an uninformative server error message (to a non-developer like me at least), as seen in the following screen capture: https://i.imgur.com/cHX8T3T.png
