I took the steps you managed in the documentation for a virtual machine... was never offered a list of IP addresses..
I have filled the IP tables, the virtual machine tables.. even assigned Clusters to the virtual machines.. but cannot get the IP addresses to tie to the virtual machines... This is ovm manager.. DO I need to create OVS physical servers as well before I create the VMs?

Issue type

[ ] Feature request
[ ] Bug report
[x] Documentation

We have an OVM private cloud setup in which we would like to track IP addresses and hostnames. in an effort to get the IPAM portion setup I have created IP addresses, Prefixes, virtual machines and even one physical system device... So far I see no way to tie the IP addresses to either the machine or the VMs. I took the physical device and added 4 NICs to it. eth0-eth3. But I cannot add IP addresses to the NICs.
I have read the documentation but think I need more of a tutorial on how I connect all the pieces.. I tried to add generic connections but have had no luck... I have 360 systems so I need to get one working and copy that process. Basically we go OVM manager to OVS server to Virtual Machine.
Our intial goal is to use this as an IPAM server.

Environment

  • Python version: 2.7.5
  • NetBox version: 2.3.2
