NetBox version

v4.4.1

Feature type

Data model extension

Proposed functionality

It would be nice if you can create a VXLAN termination on a device. Currently it's only possible to select an interface.

Use case

This way it would be more accurate if you look e.g. at Comware 7 (HPE Switch OS), you have VSIs (virtual switching instance) and VSI-Interfaces. VXLAN tunnel terminate on a VSI which is not a interface on the switch. If you want to automate and document VXLAN tunnels, VSIs and VSI-Interfaces, it would be accurate and nice if you only add the VSI-Interfaces on the device in netbox (if needed) and document the tunnel between the devices.
