NetBox version

v4.0.11

Feature type

Change to existing functionality

Proposed functionality

It would be nice to be able to set a tag when defining interfaces on device types and modules types. This would probably be useful for any of the components that support tags as well.

Use case

A use case might be that a business rule says ports 1-4 of a device are reserved for uplink interfaces. By defining an "uplink" tag on those interfaces, end users can write automatons that preconfigure those interfaces with the right templates without relying on user input to set those tags after the device is defined.
