Being able to filter by which books are not a part of a collection could be helpful with building out collections. I use collections to sort nonfiction books into topics (history, writing, biology, etc), and being able to see which books aren't categorized would be nice.

I think some more thought would need to be put into how to implement it, since people use collections for things like 'shared universes', 'genres', and other non-strict criterea. Maybe having a 'collections' filter option, instead of a 'Missing > Collection' option which populates with any user collections, and also has a 'no collection' option baked into it?

This is a great idea. I put all my books in at least one collection (my version of "tags"). It would be great to filter "not-in-collection" so I can easily see which books are not in a collection.

I would also love to see this. Without going into a collection books get "lost in space", but it is hard to ensure everything I download goes into a collection
