Describe the Feature/Enhancement

My request is to detect and include any embedded image(s) in the book file(s) as potential "local image" options when choosing the Cover in the metadata UI.

Audiobook files (mp3, m4b) can contain an embedded image, often used to store the cover image. Cover images can also be included as a separate image file (e.g. JPG) along-side the audiobook in the same directory.

When editing the metadata of a book, in the Cover tab there is sometimes a "local image" option below the "Upload Cover" button. This appears when there is a JPG or similar in the directory with the book, but does not currently appear for an embedded image in one or more of the audiobook files.

Why would this be helpful?

It would be useful to be able to 'restore' the cover from the embedded metadata the same way it can be from the local image file. For example if you've selected a different cover from metadata matching, but wish to revert. Currently to revert to the embedded cover image you'd need to delete the book and re-add it. Even then, if it contians an ASIN it may match the Audible cover over the embedded cover regardless.

Future Implementation (Screenshot)

This is the existing UI, just showing an example where I've put a different cover image in the same directory. But it could equally be an embedded cover image. No new UI elements required.
