Type of Enhancement

Web Interface/Frontend

Describe the Feature/Enhancement

I'm requesting a new feature which serves as a way to alert users to new content. Call it a Newsletter or Digest or Recap or something else. Allows you to set the schedule for the feature such as Weekly or Monthly. Would notify users of newly added books. Should probably have an opt-out or opt-in feature. My preference would be opt-out.

Why would this be helpful?

This would automatically alert your users to new content without them having to log into the server or requiring you to manual notify them. This is especially useful as the user base expands.

Future Implementation (Screenshot)

Assuming the proper metadata has already been downloaded then the cover, title, author, and description could be included. List of fields included in the setup options could be checkboxes. May be not everyone wants all of that info in the email.

Yes I used an ai to generate this image. If I could draw this is basically what it would look like. Newsletter/Digest concept is pretty established.

Audiobookshelf Server Version

v2.33.0

Current Implementation (Screenshot)

I wasn't looking at any page at the time. Left field inspiration. Random thought. Thin air opinion.

Duplicate of https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2228

Users can also look at the Recent Series or Recent Books shelf on the home page to see new additions.
