So far I use the app only for podcasts and I'm always confused for a second by the empty homepage. A setting in the user profile or app's general setting would be fantastic.

Or is anyone planning to implement an unified homepage?

What do you mean by an empty home page? Can you share a screenshot?

If you are meaning that the audiobook library is shown first and you have no books in the library, you can reorder the libraries so the podcast library is on top. If you don't use the audiobook library at all, you can also just delete the audiobook library.
