What happened?

I was uploading a series to my server, but the book files are shown (and play) out of order. I'm not sure why this is happening, as my file structure hasn't been an issue with any other book I've uploaded. The only thing I can think of is that this was part of a multiple-book collection that I split apart, but it's only affecting two of the four books.

Image

What did you expect to happen?

The files being scanned and loaded in the order I placed them in.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Split a "complete series" collection into their indiviual stories with mutiple tracks each.
  2. Once uploaded to the server, some of the books from the collection will have their tracks out of order.

Audiobookshelf version

2.29.0

How are you running audiobookshelf?

Docker

What OS is your Audiobookshelf server hosted from?

Windows

If the issue is being seen in the UI, what browsers are you seeing the problem on?

None

Logs

Additional Notes

I've removed the metadata and rescanned the book.

Moved the trouble file out of the directory, scanned the book, and replaced the file back into the directory.

I don't understand. Are those all separate books or are those audio tracks for the same book?

Can you take a screenshot of the manage tracks page?

Sure, here you go. It is a different book, but it's also having the same issue.

Is that under the metadata manager? If not, I'm not sure where it is.

Did you use any software to create the files?

From the screenshot above it looks like the tracks are embedded wrongly and thus not ordered correctly

Yeah, I use inAudible. I've never had it break like this before. Though I thought that the scanner would take the file name over the metadata.

This will depend on your library settings for the metadata priority.
