Type of Enhancement

None

Describe the Feature/Enhancement

Some audiobooks have introductory audio at the beginning and end of each episode. I hope to be able to set it to skip the introduction at the beginning and end. In simple terms, I don't want to listen to the first few seconds of the audio and the last few seconds, and I hope to add a setting option to skip these few seconds.

Why would this be helpful?

It can save a lot of time, you don't have to listen to the same audio at the beginning and end of each episode

Future Implementation (Screenshot)

Audiobookshelf Server Version

v2.25.1

Current Implementation (Screenshot)

Duplicate of both https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2203 and https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/3716 (latter uses new tamplate)

https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/3716 is podcast episodes requesting a podcast setting that is per user. So the skip would apply to all episodes of that podcast. I'm not sure why it would be per user?

https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2203 is for audiobooks and requests an overall setting (probably a library setting in our case) and then a more granular per audiobook setting.

This is using the new template but isn't specific on where the setting would be.

Sorry, I didn't find these two ISSUEs before. I am looking forward to the new version of Instinct adding this feature. By the way, it is necessary to add this feature to mobile clients because most people listen to podcasts on their phones. Could I know how long it is expected that this feature will be released?

Ah I thought you were talking about audiobooks. There is no ETA and no guarantee this would ever be added but it seems popular enough that it probably will at some point in some form
