Type of Enhancement

Web Interface/Frontend

Describe the Feature/Enhancement

Again, this gets to the problem of not being able to individually correct problems with the watcher failing to add books without requiring a full rescan.

In the upload dialog, add an option to add a "remote folder" that's "local to the server" such that one can manually add something in the ABS library path that is, for whatever reason, not presently in the library. I find that this most often occurs when there is some permission issue that ostensibly prevents ABS from reading a folder.

Presently the options are "Choose File" or "Choose Folder". If you look at e.g., Deluge, there's the possibility of a third option which is "Remote folder" and allows for one to select a folder that resides on the server... See screenshots below.

Why would this be helpful?

see above, other issues (e.g. https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2653 & https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/4230) on this topic.

If https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/450 were implemented, this could be used as well.

I think this is a duplicate of https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2181

I still have the problem and still need a solution but if it's already been rejected then I guess someone ought close it.
