Type of Enhancement

Server Backend

Describe the Feature/Enhancement

Would it be within scope of audiobookshelf to have book progress and downloads for each book be it's own thing?
I'm using ausiobookshelf as an ebook reader alongside as an audiobook listener and with the ebook reading, I have it set to use folder file structure which has entire series of one novel in one folder. i finished one book's first volume, progress says 100% and I can't read next volume unless I set that as my primary and download that volume. would it be possible to have a way to set progress for entire book series instead of the primary one and download per volume or entire series instead of one book?

Why would this be helpful?

It would be helpful for the ebook reading potion if we're using this app as something like a local hosted ebook reading equivalent of an app such as tachiyomi. everything apart from this issue seems perfect to me so far as a standalone ebook reader.

Future Implementation (Screenshot)

something like this?

Image

not sure how to doodle about the progress bar only being synced to the primary one

Audiobookshelf Server Version

V2.19.4

Current Implementation (Screenshot)

pressed download, went to class, took out to read, only one volume was there.
I couldn't download each volume.
checked progress bar stuff. said 100% when only one book was read.

ABS can only have one primary ebook per library item. Each folder is a library item, so if you want progress tracking on each ebook, each ebook will need to be in their own folder.

Duplicate of https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2338 and https://github.com/advplyr/audiobookshelf/issues/2208
