I would like for there to be subchapter support added when editing or viewing chapters.

Why would this be helpful?

There are books that have several subchapters within each chapter, each subchapter with its own title. For quick reference to them, I have used the Edit Chapters feature to create subchapters for each of these. But because there isn't any UI difference between my chapters and subchapters, quickly locating the main chapter track takes a bit longer than I'd like. If there were a subchapter feature that indents subchapters beneath the chapters containing them, quick-locating the main tracks would be a breeze.

To keep the buttons orderly and uniform, perhaps keep the chapter preview buttons in a single column like so:
