Type of Enhancement

Web Interface/Frontend

Describe the Feature/Enhancement

I propose adding a new section or line on the single audiobook description page with a link to a preferred audiobook server (e.g., Goodreads, Audible). This link would allow users to quickly check reviews, comments, and additional details about the audiobook.

Why would this be helpful?

Currently, when I find an audiobook I’m interested in, I need to manually copy the title, open a browser, navigate to my preferred review platform, and search for it to check reviews. Adding a direct link to the audiobook description page would save time and make the experience more user-friendly. Ideally, the metadata could be fetched automatically or added manually by users or admins.

Hello @nichwall,

Thank you for your quick response. I reviewed issue #1820, and I believe my suggestion is different and not a duplicate.

My proposal is to add a single textbox in the edit window, allowing users to input a link that would appear on the audiobook description page.

Here’s how I imagine it:

  • In the edit window, there could be a textbox like the one in the attached image:

  • This would generate a line on the audiobook description page, as shown in the first image in my original post.

Let me know if you need further clarification, and I’d be happy to elaborate.

If I understand the #1820 wrong, appologize.

Thank you!

From previous discussion in other issues/Discord (it was a while ago, so feelings may have changed and I can't find the exact conversation), we felt it was better to embed this into the book description and allow the link to be clickable.

The main reason for that was because handling multiple links could get weird, like if you want an Audible link and a Goodreads link on the same book, or a link to reviews versus a link to buy the book (usually the same page, but from just thinking of edge cases).

So you are correct that your request is not exactly the same as #1820, but the resolution would be the same.

@nichwall thank you for the answer and explanation. I understand... I will be watching #1820 than.
