Describe the feature/enhancement

I would like the ability to hide the series number (or number indicating number of books in a series) from displaying. It covers up the cover artwork, especially so when a series contains a collapsed subseries.

Do you see this as a global server setting that would also apply to the mobile clients?

It would probably be a library setting if we made it global since it is specific to books.

If we hide the sub-series numbers how would you know this is a sub-series?

I do see this as a cross-platform setting. Having the number there is a bother both on the web app and on mobile.

As far as marking whether it is a series or a subseries---perhaps a less intrusive mark can be used: like a triangle in the corner; or a different color of line at the bottom where the green progress bar is? Or perhaps there could be some mark underneath it on the "shelf"? If I change to the alternate shelf view, it shows the subseries name underneath the artwork (which, for that view, is enough indication). So for the skeumorphic view, maybe a label design underneath, similar to the labels on the Series tab (or the home screen)? I like those.
