App crashes when playing local book with no cell service #861

Steps to reproduce

Have no cell service
Play book downloaded to internal storage
Listen to your book for 6 seconds before the app locks up

Expected behaviour

The app should not lock up

Actual behaviour

When you hit the green play button, the book starts playing immediately, the play button in the player gets the loading circle like it's trying to sync with the server. This lasts for about 6 seconds before the app locks up. If you turn on airplane mode, the book plays fine. If you start a book with cell service then move to an area with no service, it plays fine. If you start a book on airplane mode let it play, then turn airplane mode back off, it plays fine even if you still don't have service.
