Describe the feature/enhancement

I would like a button to allow for quick bookmarking. This would be most useful on iOS app and via Bluetooth headphones (other apps use triple tap). This would allow it to be easy to go back to certain passages for reference.

Which other apps are you referring to?

Snipd is the one I use daily and love (podcast app). I have seen a bookmark button on a few dedicated players (aka prologue), but having ability to trigger it from the headphones is great.

You can bookmark already for items when connected to server. Just want to clarify that.
This request is just for having the ability to bookmark using bluetooth

Wow thanks I didn't even realize that (I always download). That is huge.

yes would recommend the bookmark available via triple tap, on CarPlay, and on the home screen widget if able

This is exactly what I meant. I know its possible to bookmark but I mostly listen to the Audibooks on the go and would love to mark without having to go into the phone and app and all that to mark. Just more convenient, and eventually sync the output bookmarks to my Obsidian not taking app but thats another thing for later :)

I would love to have this added. I frequently listen to books while driving, mowing the lawn, cooking, etc., where pulling out my phone and using the UI isn't practical.

+1 on this feature 🙏 I'm usually hiking / jogging, so setting bookmarks from my earbuds would be AWESOME!

@advplyr I guess in a way this is related to #1218? If we get a "Headset Settings" section, then we could add an option to define a key to trigger the creation of a bookmark?

(and btw thank you for such an amazing OSS project ♥)

Hey @advplyr, would you be willing to accept a PR for this feature? I'm happy to help, although I don't have much experience with Kotlin.

Not sure if you prefer something more tailored to this feature, or the revival of #1218 to get a "Headset Settings" section?

Please let me know what would be better in your opinion.

I use this app daily ❤️ This feature would help me a lot to save important parts of certain audiobooks while on-the-go 🙏

Hey if you can find a simple solution that doesn't require much code changes then definitely. The PRs that touch a lot of other parts of the codebase are difficult to review

Hey @advplyr, in #1823 I've implemented this in the least amount of code I found possible: 80 lines on the diff. I've tested this on my physical Android phone. I'd love to get a review and to start using this in my actual audiobooks 🙏 🙂
