I think it might be but the terrible speed of downloading to local storage is a decidedly different symptom.

I think it might be but the terrible speed of downloading to local storage is a decidedly different symptom.
I have been experiencing the slow downloads issue for the past 2 months or so, there weren't any problems before that. I wasn't sure if it was an app problem or my server until I downloaded a different ios app that supports connecting to the audiobookshelf server (called 'Still') and it's download speed was back to where this app was a few months ago. For instance it was able to download a 1.3GB audiobook in about a minute, whereas the ABS app took 2 hours for the same book.
iPhone 16 Pro Max
iOS 18.7.2
ABS-app 0.11.0-beta
ABS Server v2.32.1

It gets warm, but I'm not sure if thats from the download or because you need to keep the screen on and the app in focus for the download to continue and so I don't want to assume they are related.

So I had the same issue on my iPad running os 26. I deleted the app to clear everything out, redownloaded it, and downloads are faster, not as fast as they should be compared to a few months ago/the other app, but much faster than ABS-app on my iPhone which I've had installed for quite a while.
Is it possible that the locally saved data/database (maybe some corruption or leftovers from errors download sessions?) are exacerbating the issue?

Just want to give this a bump as it is very much still an issue for me on 0.12-0 beta on an iPhone 12
It can take me anywhere from 10-60mins to download an audiobook via all the following:
Local
Tailscale
Remote https via Caddy
I figured it would be my setup but the thing is Plappa downloads the same books in 1-5 minutes.

I have the same experience, 3rd party apps work fine...
