When I close my phone and have Audiobookshelf running the screen stays gray and I have to wait sometimes close to 20 seconds to 5 seconds for the currently playing audiobook and controls to be displayed.
Sure I could just use the widget to go back a few second or my earbud controls but for some reason that doesnt always work and the widget is slower presumably or it should be if the app is already open.
Steps to Reproduce the Issue
Play an audiobook leaving the screen on the cover and controls menu
Play for a good amount of time with a closed screen
Open the app and wait 20 seconds
What was Expected?
Quick load on refocus of the app
Phone Model
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Phone OS
EMUI 11 (Android 11)
Audiobookshelf App Version
Android App - 0.11.0
Installation Source
Google Play Store

I'm confused as to what exactly you are experiencing. Is the app showing it is waiting for data from the server? When first opening the app, you need to wait for the app to connect to the server and get information to display anything not downloaded locally. The only way around this is to use the app in offline mode, which will not sync progress with the server or allow streaming media.

I get the same gray screen as you, but if I touch the gray screen the controls appear immediately. Weird behavior.
