I have verified that the bug is not already awaiting release

Yes

What was the Problem?

For quite a while I've been listening to Harry Potter using the app at night to fall asleep. During this time I had no issues with progress sync.

However, recently, I've been listening to other audiobooks in the car using the app in Android Auto. And started seeing that each night when I switched back to HP, its progress would be set back many hours (example set to 10 hours instead of 46hrs where it left off). Luckily, I could go into the history and scroll down past a bunch of 10 hour progresses and select where i had left off the night before.

And then the next morning when I switch back to my car audio book, I will have lost all progress from the previous day on that book and there would be no timestamps shown in the history log.

It looks to me like the progress sync for the car audiobook is somehow getting sent to the HP book when I open the app in the evening. However, this doesn't happen every day. I suspect if I open the app after the drive, then it will sync properly or perhaps just waking up my phone after getting out of the car is enough.

Note: The server is accessible when I'm on mobile data, but the app does lose server access on occasion, requiring me to manually reconnect. Just mentioning incase its related to the network sync bug #1510

Steps to Reproduce the Issue

  1. Play an audiobook from the app
  2. Connect to Android Auto
  3. Switch to book 2
  4. Listen to book during drive
  5. Hours later, switch back to book 1 in the app
  6. Book 2's progress will sync to book 1

What was Expected?

Each book should keep its own separate progress.

Is one of the books downloaded (even though you have a connection to the server)?
