Note how with the latter two, the l is very distinct, by having a serif only to the right on the bottom, rather than in both directions like the 1. This makes it faster and more reliable to distinguish at a glance.
Could you please consider a similar change?

@joshtriplett @hammerandtongs changed the serif in l to disambiguate from 1. it works on my machine. i think it should work for you too. i've added the new l in the original font itself without any variant. i gather nobody would prefer an ambiguated l if another is available. would take me some time to get used to this though :)
