I'd love to have a bold version of this as my coding font.
Currently using
Hack Bold.Unfortunately, the
emboldenFontconfig edit doesn't seem to work with my editor (Sublime Text 4, Linux).I tried to make the glyphs bolder with FontForge, but it fails for some of them and I'm not an expert.
Maybe it's easier with your workflow to embolden everything and create a bolder weight?
Thank you!
@sayyadirfanali commented on GitHub (Nov 10, 2025):
@eepp do you need a bold version of the font to display bold text in your editor or just want to increase weight by little bit to use it as a regular font (not just for bold text)?
@vinoff commented on GitHub (Nov 10, 2025):
I also want different weights, but I go in the different direction. I want a lighter weight. On my code editor, I use FiraCode Light. I would like to use Myna Light. I find the default (regular) Myna way too thick for my liking.
TLDR: Please give us Myna Light!
@eepp commented on GitHub (Nov 10, 2025):
I want to increase the weight of the whole font to use it as is (I don't have different weights when coding).
@sayyadirfanali commented on GitHub (Nov 17, 2025):
i'm adding Bold/Light (weight) and Italic (style) variants (both .otf and .ttf formats) in the roadmap following this issue (#7) and #14.
@EstebanColina commented on GitHub (Nov 23, 2025):
Thank you both @eepp and @sayyadirfanali
I was about to request this exact feature. If possible Italic-Bold would be welcome as well, but not really needed
@sayyadirfanali commented on GitHub (Dec 14, 2025):
@eepp @EstebanColina @vinoff added bold and italic variants in v2.0.0 beta. please test it and report issues. there is no light or medium variant, for now.
@eepp commented on GitHub (Dec 15, 2025):
Thank you, but your bold version is too thin for me. Compare with Hack:
I need something that thick. It's like you made a medium version in fact.
