Font looks cool but unfortunately I use Kitty and it only supports tff, and it doesn't do automatic italic and bold like Alacritty, do you think you can provide the font variants as well?

@igorgue i've added a .ttf version. can you check if it works? the bold and italic variants are in the roadmap. stay tuned to #7 for future updates.

@sayyadirfanali No, unfortunately for this font's different variants to work on Kitty you'd have to provide Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic variants that are in different ttf files...

@igorgue there is one .ttf i've added (https://github.com/sayyadirfanali/Myna/blob/main/Myna.ttf) which represents the Regular weight. can you check if that works on your terminal?

most terminals would just default back to Regular in case the other variants are not available. i just wanted to check if the .ttf file is alright.

if the .ttf file with Regular variant works on the terminal, i'd keep this issue closed.

you can follow #7 for the variants issue which is in the roadmap and may take some time.

@igorgue i've added Italic in #7 too. i'm going to assume the regular .ttf is working fine on your terminal.

Oh yes it is, did you add bold italic too?

Again, on this ticket I was asking for all of the variants not just regular I don't know why you keep asking that... In fact I don't even need regular I can convert it myself but bold, italic and italic bold I couldn't generate with FontForge...

i, perhaps mistakenly, understood your request to be: (1) add .ttf and (2) add variants.

(1) is done and (2) is not a trivial task and won't be completed immediately. i was asking for confirmation that (1) is indeed properly done before i move on to (2).

i've mentioned in the README that synthesised variants work reasonably well for me. i've never used the terminal you use but you can test with some other terminal (perhaps gnome-terminal, or st) whether the synthesised variants (fake bold/italic) work for you too.

Yeah I understand the variants do work on other terminals nicely and that Kitty is very strict about fonts... I can't really switch terminals though cause I have many keybinds and other customizations only available in Kitty... And just to try a font I'm not switching my terminal... Hence my request.

I tried it on Alacritty and it's cool I just wanna give it a go at a complete day of work, and to me that means using Kitty

I'll try the italics later though thank you so much for working on this I know it doesn't affect you...
