Apples new Macbook pro 16inch M1 Pro/Max comes with 140W charging adapter. It allows fast charging, which is great! Unfortunately, could be harmful to the battery if used on often basis. It would be great if Aldente could put a cap on charge wattage desired by the user! Is that feasible with the current macOS?

Personally I use my macbook mostly at my work by the desk where fast charging is not a key feature. I believe that charging at 0.5C would both allow me to go by with my daily duties(allowing me to top-up enough charge for the meetings while I'm at the desk) as well as prevent battery degradation over time.

BTW: Thanks for making the app - I do enjoy it!

@MatthiasKerbl commented on GitHub (Dec 2, 2021):

Hi @KonradDIKU,

That's something we would really like to implement. However, we have not found a technical pathway to do it yet and we do not know if it is even possible. A workaround of course is to just use a weaker power brick.

I am glad you like our little App AlDente. :)

Since we already have an open issue #426 for this feature, I will close this one.

Cheers,
Matthias
